trapped in a dream

18 Jan

some movies just exist. there is no reason why they were made, people get bored sometimes.

however, there are movies that don’t just exist for no reason. there is a number of special films that capture your mind. sometimes they’re even better than books. you think your imagination is the best, but then you watch two hours of someone else’s explosive mind and realise that it gets to you in a way that your own fantasy can’t. at least that’s how i feel – now that i’ve seen the fall.

it’s a mind-blowing story with the most wonderful pictures, i have never seen anything like it before. sometimes i thought the colours might burst out of my computer and pull me in. i can find no words to describe how i felt after having watched it. i got a similar feeling after pan’s labyrinth, which is also a “you-must-watch”-recommendation. i cannot help but ask myself … how is this movie not famous?

i find it extremely difficult to stop thinking about the story. thank you tarsem.
i love it.

stay a dreamer. and permanently purple.

to give a big comment on this. i have never been so !§$&?=?)/&$§ by a song before.

p.s. don’t feel the need to watch the video whilst listening, the idiots didn’t even get the lyrics right.

how about … not growing up?

6 Dec

being a student means that you’re on the verge of growing up. i don’t think i’ll be doing that any time soon.
funnily, i don’t seem to be the only one. so is this a trend or do too many of us live in our own sweet microcosms? did i read harry potter and the chronicles of narnia too often? have we seen too much or too little? or do we need to dream less? is your bedding fit for a grown-up? what about your socks? do you still jump in puddles? do you scribble stupid things in the corner of your neighbour’s paper? do you feel like going to mama when you’re sick? do you need to cuddle when you’ve had a bad day? do you get cranky when there’s no chocolate left in the cupboard? do you believe in santa claus? or the tooth fairy? do you get scared in the dark? do you cry after throwing up? do you?

it’s ok as long as you don’t still pee your pants at night.

staying a kid forever. sounds good to me.
staying purple forever. sounds just as good.

LIFE SAVERS

1 Sep

we all know why men love us. because they don’t know how we look without make-up. of course there are women who look better without it (bless them) and then comes the whole “i-love-you”-thing when the boys don’t care whether we wear it or not. but as long as you aren’t a super-woman or a very-in-love-girl, you need make-up – believe me. the first impression counts most. of course everybody should suit theirselves, but i would like to share 7 of my life savers anyway! if you should have nasty oily skin, asian eyes, gaps in your eyebrows and not much cheekbone in sight, these are your life savers as well!

1) CLINIQUE superfit makeup (27€)
- for all skin types
- regulates oily skin
- stays on the whole day
- covers up red spots
- looks very natural

2) CLINIQUE stay-matte sheer pressed powder (27€)
- for all skin types
- prevents you from looking like a shiny slug

3) CLINIQUE clarifying lotion 3 (18-28€)
-use after removing make-up
- for oily skin only
- cleans the hell out of your skin
- contains alcohol so don’t breath it in

4) CLINIQUE moisture surge extended thirst relief (29-39€)
- use after clarifying lotion, you will need it
- for all skin types
- put some on cheeks, only dab on T-zone

5) BENEFIT brow zings (30€)
- looks much more natural than pens
- comes in 3 different shades
- fixing wax included
- teeny tweezers included
- seems expensive – but buy once and it lasts a lifetime
- alternative: non-glitter eyeshadow

6) MAYBELLINE JADE liner express (7€)
- easy to use
- have problems with eyeliner that looks perfect in the morning but smudgy by noon? this is the answer to your problem, i have been looking for this for 5 years

7) BENEFIT coralista blush (30€)
- looks good on dark and light skin
- slight shimmer
- brush included, but blush brush is always better
- stays on very long
- seems expensive, but buy once and it lasts ages

now all of these life savers aren’t the cheapest of their kind, but with my experimenting-experience, it’s cheaper to just buy the expensive ones than try out all the cheap ones and get disappointed yet again. these products are really very reliable and save my day – every day!

have a PermanentlyPurple day!

what do you think?

1 Sep

this nail polish is a tricky little thing. it’s cheap and makes you want to use it every day and buy one after the other. i found it while browsing in the make up section like always. it just seemed too tiny and too cheap (about 1,20€) to just leave it there. there were so many colours but it wasn’t hard to decide.
watermelon won. from the moment i saw this colour i loved it. when i came home and showed my parents they laughed at me and called me granny.

essence colour & go #22: “what do you think?”

stay PermanentlyPurple – but like watermelon as well

fake lashes for … your car?

31 Aug

after weeks … i finally have found a subject worthy enough to post in my blog. it’s called carlashes and it’s one of the funniest things i’ve ever seen. my mum found them on the net yesterday and i really think it takes car-tuning to another – very girly – level. i wouldn’t mind having those myself. i’m sure it takes a lot of guts to really go public with these fancy wittle things. how could anyone come up with this idea?!

do yourself a favor and visit carlashes.com and have a good laugh with me.

my milkis and me.

9 Aug

today’s post is a really yummi one. MILKIS is a korean soft drink and it’s one of a kind. while it contains the usual ingredients a common carbonated beverage does, the key component is milk. thats what gives it its milky colour and taste – and obviously its name as well. it is highly addictive, very sweet and very popular. milkis is available worldwide! so go to your local asian store and buy yourself a supply for one year at least. for those who do not have a local asian store – there are many online opportunities to buy korean food, p.ex. hmart.com. for germanykmall.de (i live in a tiny town in germany, so i can’t live without that internet page really.)

milkis was launched in 1989 with a huge marketing campaign with hong kong star Chow Yun-Fat (The King and I / Pirates of the Caribbean 3) in its TV commercials. and it is so funny!
